The Island of Rab is a part of the Kvarner Bay archipelago in the northern part of the Adriatic Sea.  Besides the small city of Rab there are seven other places spread around the Island: Barbat, Banjol, Palit, Kampor, Mundanije, Supetarska Draga, and Lopar.

The Island of Rab has a population of approximately 9000 residents who spend their time mostly with farming, fishing, and tourism.  The tradition of organized tourism is older than 120 years and it was started with the “Organization for the advancement of the Island and its surroundings” which was established in 1889.
The reasons for the healthy development of tourism on the Island and facts that are true even today are among others the accommodating climate and accommodating surroundings of the island which heal sickness due to breathing and heart conditions.  The old tradition of offering high quality services comes from the experience and friendliness of the islanders which is passed on from generation to generation.  The school of tourism is a large part of the Island and makes the inhabitants very proud.

The traditional friendliness and polyglothic habits of the inhabitants of Rab will make even you become a member of the family and after some time you shall feel as a “native” inhabitant of the Island.
